Abstract

126,546. Salter, C. Aug. 2, 1918. Checking shuttles and pickers.-In shuttle and picker checking-devices wherein a lever b pivoted to the shuttle box is provided at one end with a connexion h slidable on the picking-spindle g and is under the inflence of an adjustable spring at the other end, the spring I. is flat, is secured to the under side of the shuttle box, and has an inclined portion adapted to bear against a bowl d or a stud carried on the lower end of the lever. The spring l is adjusted by screws m, and the end against which the bowl or stud works may be increased in thickness. The motion of the lever is limited by a bracket n having a stop o at its free end, and leather or other material p may serve as an abutment for the upper arm of the lever. In a modification, the lever has a projection engaging a slot in a plate of waste leather, the bracket n being dispensed with.
