Abstract

1,264,346. Spinneret and spinning head assembly. CTA-COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DE TEXTILES INDUSTRIELS ET SYNTHETIQUES. 20 Aug., 1969 [21 Aug., 1968], No.41610/69. 'Heading B5B. A spinneret comprises a metal sheet which has a regularly curved surface, a perforated inner zone and an imperforate peripheral zone providing a surface for mounting the spinneret in liquid sealtight manner in a spinning head, the peripheral zone being on the same curved surface as the inner zone. As shown in Fig. 1, the extrusion head comprises a hollow body 1 connected to a conduit for feeding a material 2 to be spun and provided with a rectangular aperture 160 mm. long and 46 mm. wide disposed symmetrically with respect to the axis of the feed conduit. A locking plate 4 and a cover 5, both having a rectangular aperture 52 mm. wide at the level of the spinneret are held against the aperture of the spinning head by means of bolts 3 parallel to the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the spinneret 6. A distributer in the form of a flat rectangular slotted plate 7 is disposed between the hollow body 1 and the locking plate 4. The spinneret is especially useful in the web-spinning of polyacrylonitrile filaments.
