Abstract
1,263,846. Electric incandescent lamp. JEAN ROCHET S.A. 7 July, 1970 [6 Aug., 1969], No. 32906/70. Heading H1F. An electric incandescent lamp is made by placing within a glass bulb 1 a filament structure 3 having a support 4 and leads 5, 6. A glass exhaust tube 7 is placed within the neck 2 of the bulb with the leads 5, 6 between the neck and the tube. The neck, leads and exhaust tube are heat sealed by a clamping device during which a tungsten needle is inserted in tube 7 to prevent it collapsing. After sealing, the neck of the bulb is cruciform in cross-section (Fig. 4, not shown). The bulb is evacuated via tube 7, the bulb tipped-off and a metal cap secured to the bulb by glue. Electrical connections are made to the cap by leads 5, 6.
