Abstract

1,263,769. Resistors. HITACHI Ltd. 25 Sept., 1969 [11 Oct., 1968], No. 47370/69. Heading HIS. A resistive film 12 is constructed so that the current density along different current paths is different; and its resistance is first coarsely adjusted by forming a first transverse slot 15 in a portion of high current density and is then finely adjusted by forming a second slot 16 in a portion of low current density. The different current densities may be due to the shape of the resistive film, or the position of the terminals 13, 14, or non-homogeneous resistivity, or varying film thickness. The film may be of tantalum, nickel chrome alloy or cermet deposited on a ceramic substrate by printing, vacuum deposition or sputtering.
