Abstract

1,263,214. Door closer. AMMUS-SYTYTIN OY. 22 May, 1970 [23 May, 1969], No. 24924/70. Heading E2M. A door closer recessable in a door frame or door comprises a return spring positioned by the side of a closing plunger moving axially inside a body, a brake plunger and an operating arm. In the figure, two return springs 12 are positioned (in tubes 1A, 1C) either side of tube 1B containing closing plunger 3, brake plunger 6 and operating arm 7. Opening the door extracts arm 7 causing springs 12 to compress by means of fastening head 5 and actuating plate 4. Oil from the closing plunger flows to the front part of the brake plunger via one-way valve 17. As the door closes, the oil is forced to the rear part of the brake plunger, thus restraining the closing action of the springs 12 and controlling the closing speed.
