Abstract

126,138. Sidebottom, H. May 3, 1918. Pads and like rubbing and polishing appliances. -A duster, polisher, or the like comprises one or more pieces of felt arranged or assembled to form a pocket into which is inserted a blade provided with a handle portion. The appliance as shown in Fig. 1 comprises two pieces a of thick felt covered along one edge by a strip b of leather, canvas, &c. secured by stitching c and rivets d so as to form a longitudinal pocket in which the flat blade of the handle e is secured. In a modification, the appliance is made from a single piece of folded felt. The felt may be stiffened at the edges by stitching f. In another modification, suitable for use as a crumb scoop, the folded parts are secured together by stitching and the handle formed from stout wire, the blade portion being curved.
