N. w. PLOOSTER BRUSH Filed March 30. 1925 Patented Dec. 1, 1925.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BRUSH.
Application filed March 30, 1925. Serial No. 19,492.
To all whom it mag concern:
Be it known that I, NEAL W. Pmos'nm, a citizen of the United States, residin at Prescott, in the county of Yavapai and mm of Arizona, have invented new and useful Improvements in Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to a shoe polishing device, and has for its object to provide a polishing pad or brush with a cover of backing of flexible material of such construction and arrangement that the same may be arranged around the pad to fully enclose the same, whereby the device may be conveniently carried in the pocket of the user, the said backing bein also designed to be 100 ed upon itself over t e pad to provide a ban strap for manipulating the pad, simple means being provlded for securing the backing in either of its mentioned positions.
The improvement embodies other novel features of construction which will be set forth in detail in the following description, illustrated by the accompan ing drawings,
and pointed out with particu arity in the appended claim.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improvement.
Figure 2 is an approximately central longitudinal sectionalview therethrough.
Figure 3 is a substantially similar section, but showin the pad cover of backing. hol
looped upon itse f to provide a hand In the drawings I have illustrated the pad around the pad, as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings. When so arranged, the ends of the pad are connected together by any desirable means, such as indicated by the numeral 4 in the drawings. The backing. 3 is also of a length whereby the same may be looped over the pad, it provides a hand hold whereby the pad may be manipulated for shining or polishing shoes or other articles, and when the pad is enclosed in the backing as disclosed by Figures 1 and 2, danger of the said pad soiling the garment of the user will be effectively overcome.
Having described the invention, I claimr A shoe polisher comprising a, flexible backing, a pad secured to one face of said backing adjacent one end thereof, said backing being of a length to permit of the same being folded entirely around the pad to enclose the said pad or to be looped upon itself over the pad to provide a hand hold, and cooperative means carried by the ends of the 65 backing for detachably retaining the ends of the backing in either of said positions.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
NEAL w. PLOOSTER.
