Abstract

1,261,303. Seats. HOWARD C. MICKLEM & SON PTY Ltd. Feb. 23, 1970 [Feb. 24, 1969], No.8612/70. Headings A4B, A4H and A4J. A child's seat comprises a foldable frame 2 with tongues 6 for engagement between the seat squab (38) and back rest (37) of a motor car seat and a back rest 14, a seat part 23 and an arm surround 18 mounted on the frame 2 and movable between an operative position and a position affording more ready access by a child to the seat part 23, the seat part 23 being pivotally mounted on the frame 2 so that it may swing downwardly to an out of use position in which it permits a child to stand on the car seat to extend through the arm surround 18. The mounting of the seat part 23 comprises a pair of bracket arms 28 carried by the frame 2, each arm 28 having an elongate slot 27 in which is slidably engaged a pivot pin 26 carried by a side bracket 33 on the seat 23 and a recess 31 which detachably receives a pin 29 on the seat bracket 33. A strap 34 is detachably secured to the seat 23. With the seat 23 lowered a toilet seat Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) may be detachably supported by the brackets 28. A tray may be detachably secured to and supported by the arm surround. Safety straps 16 are provided. (For Figure see next page)
