Abstract

126,109. Jordan, H. S., and Abben, H. F. A. W. H. April 23, 1918. Revolving-cylinder pumps. - A fluid pressure engine or pump has a double-ended piston which reciprocates in an open-ended cylinder formed in a drum 6 which rotates in a stationary casing 7. The piston is secured by a rod 3 to a shaft 1 mounted to be eccentric to the axis of rotation of the drum. Steam is admitted to the passage 9 of the engine shown in Fig. 1 and exhausts through the passage 10. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 8700/85, 18953/97, [Class 110, Rotary engines &c.], 10636/04, [Class 7, Air and gas engines], 1132/11, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], 27230/13, [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.], 28411/13, and 5686/15, [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.].
