Abstract

1,260,518. Knitting-machines. WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB. 3 June, 1969, No. 28078/69. Heading D1C. A device for transferring pre-fabricated goods from a storage bar 26 to each division of a straight-bar machine includes a transfer bar 7 transported to the needles by arms 9 which deposit it on a slide (4 Fig. 1 not shown) movable towards the needles. The loaded storage bar is movable on a carriage 19 across the machine and locked in position at each division. The arms 9 are locked in the receiving position shown by a pin 17 engaging a notch 15. Manual rotation of cam shaft 20 raises comb 28 between the points of the transfer bar so that the loops remain on the tips and lowers the storage bar. Fabric is then pulled onto the transfer bar. The arms 12 are lowered, so that the arms 9 whose ends engage the arcuate rack 11, are swung through 180‹. The fabric is thus deposited on the slide which is fixed to toothed racks (3) and thereby conveyed to the needles.
