Abstract

1,259,795. Amplitude modulation systems; transistor oscillator circuits. SIEMENS A.G. 2 May, 1969 [3 May, 1698], No. 22464/69. Headings H3R and H3T. An oscillator is keyed by a data signal by interruption of the feedback path. Tuned circuit L, C is coupled by means of a two-stage emitter-follower comprising transistors T1, T2 to the base of transistor T3. Transistors T3, T4 form an emitter-coupled pair having the collector to emitter path of transistor T5 as common emitter impedance, and their collectors are back-coupled to the tuned circuit inductor L via centre-tapped coupling coil W1. Oscillations can be interrupted by means of a switch S, which may comprise a further transistor driven by data signals and which connects the base of transistor T3 to a point of constant potential. The band-width of the signals is determined by the tuned circuit L, C and may be adjusted by means of a shunt resistor RL. The arrangement may be used to provide amplitude modulated signals, the modulating signal being applied to the base of transistor T5.
