Abstract

1,074,666. Transistor harmonic generator circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. Jan. 19, 1966 [Jan. 23, 1965], No. 2568/66. Heading H3T. A harmonic generator of the type in which a ringing circuit is excited by a switching device (such as transistor Ts 1 ) has a diode in shunt with the ringing circuit so as to damp out oscillations after the first half-cycle and a temperature stabilized threshold circuit to remove spurious oscillation across the diode. As shown, T s1 is turned on by negative halfcycles of a 12 kc/s. square wave form a Schmitt circuit (not shown), giving a single half-cycle at a harmonic frequency across the circuit L 1 , C 2 . Further oscillation is minimized by diode D 1 and by transistors T s2' Ts 3 , which respectively operate in class AB and class C. The harmonic amplitude is stabilized against temperature by R 2 and by Ge diodes D 2 , D 3 which control the threshold of Ts 2 . Ts 3 may be biased by a potentiometer across D 2 , D 3 . The invention may be used as a carrier source in mobile telecommunications apparatus.
