Abstract

977,768. Semi-conductor oscillating circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and J. A. ROBINSON. Oct. 17, 1963 [Oct. 25, 1962], No. 40498/62. Heading H3T. The signal path of an oscillator consisting of three amplifiers 1, 2, 3 is provided with a limiting circuit 7 comprising a first transistor 16 which conducts producing positive pulses if the instantaneous magnitude of the oscillatory signal becomes more negative than a predetermined negative value, and a second transistor 17 which conducts producing negative pulses if the instantaneous magnitude becomes more positive than a predetermined positive value. As described integrator amplifiers 1, 2 and adder 3 are connected in a closed loop so as to form an oscillatory circuit. Further positive feedback provided by the resistor 6 is opposed by the output from transistors 16, 17 to limit the amplitude of oscillation to 10 V. Temperature compensation is provided by diodes 27. The input to the transistors 16, 17 is fed via resistor 8 which controls the limiting point, and resistor 9 which controls the relative positive and negative clipping points.
