Abstract

1,130,672. Transistor oscillator circuits. BIVIATOR S.A. 14 July, 1967 [22 July, 1966], No. 32425/67. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G3] In an electric timepiece having a control coil and a driving coil connected into the input and output circuits respectively, of a transistor to provide a system for sustaining the oscillation of a mechanical oscillator or resonator, the driving coil 1 is connected between the emitter of the transistor 4 and one terminal of a voltage source 3, the control coil 2 is connected in series with a variable resistor 5 between the base and emitter of the transistor, and a diode 6, such as a Zener diode, is connected between the base of the transistor and said one terminal of the voltage source. The resistor 5 may be adjusted to vary the induced control current and thereby the braking effect of such current on the mechanical oscillator to adjust the amplitude of the latter. The drive current is maintained constant by the Zener diode irrespective of the adjustment of the resistor 5.
