Abstract

1418749 Pulse oscillator circuits EBAUCHES SA 13 March 1973 [28 March 1972] 12058/73 Heading H3T [Also in Division G3] The oscillations of a balance wheel of a timepiece are maintained by an astable multivibrator (e.g. as Fig. 1) comprising a coil 4 electromagnetically coupled to the balance, transistors T1, T2, a timing circuit including capacitor 1 and a negative feedback circuit including T3, T4 and resistor 5 connected as a current mirror. When current 12 increases, the potential at a point B becomes lower. Consequently currents I4 and I3 become lower. (The ratio of I3/I4 is said to equal the ratio of areas of the surfaces of T3 and T4). The decreasing of current I3 opposes any increase in I2 and a state of equilibrium is reached before T2 is saturated. The use of a more elaborate current mirror in integrated form is described with reference to Fig. 2, not shown.
