Abstract

1,080,559. Transistor oscillating circuits; frequency modulation. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. Dec. 3, 1965 [Dec. 4, 1964]. No. 49444/64. Headings H3R and H3T. A transistor oscillator comprises two transistors T1, T2 with a common emitter circuit resistor R3, the base circuit of transistor T2 comprising a tuned circuit L3, C4 to which the collector of transistor T1 is back-coupled by means of choke L1 and capacitor C1. Transistor T3 forms with transistor T2 a pair in cascode amplifier connection, an output being taken from the collector circuit of transistor T3 via transformer L2. The arrangement may be frequency modulated by means of a varactor diode connected across the tuned circuit L3, C4 (Fig. 2, not shown) the modulating voltage being applied to the capacitor via a choke.
