Abstract

1,011,920. Frequency modulation. A.T. & E. (BRIDGNORTH) Ltd. March 6, 1962 [April 5, 1961], No. 12145/61. Drawings to Specification. Heading H3R. A series resonant crystal, a variable inductor and a back-biased semi-conductor variable capacitor series resonant with the inductor at the crystal series resonance frequency are connected in series between a transistor emitter and a capacitive tapping of the resonant collector circuit of a transistor oscillator, so that modulation applied through an R.F. choke across the diode capacitor produces a frequency modulated output. The base is at R.F. earth potential but is biased to vary the oscillation amplitude from a potentiometer across the operating potential.
