A trolley 11 for transporting wheeled vehicles in a mechanical garage has two rows of bars 13, 14 for supporting a vehicle's wheels, the pitch 15 of the two rows being the same but the rows being staggered with respect to each other by half the pitch. The outer ends of the bars 13, 14 are free and when the trolley is positioned in a cell 1, the bars, which are secured at their inner ends to a platform 12, are able to pass between bars 2, 3 provided in the cell since they have the same pitch as the bars 2, 3. As shown, a wheel 18 of a vehicle is resting in an unstable position on a bar 14 but the other wheel of the same axle, due to the staggered arrangement of the bars, will rest on two successive bars 13 and in a stable position. The other wheel corresponding to a wheel 17 will be unstable but the wheel 17. as shown, rests on two bars 14. The trolley 11 runs on rails 7, 8 mounted on a trolley 6 which moves along rails 5. When the trolley 11 is aligned with a cell 1 it is able to run on to rails 9, 10 which pass under the bars 2, 3. In place of the bars 2, 3, 13, 14 which are round in section there may be pairs of bars (13a) or angle section supports (13b), Figs. 3, 4 (not shown).
