Abstract
125,945. Pilon, H. April 20, 1918, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-In a rectifier or other vacuum tube the cathode filament is so mounted in close proximity to an anode that it may assume a form in equilibrium under the forces of attraction without the possibility of contact with the anode. As shown in Fig. 2, the anode a is of paraboloidal shape, and the filament b assumes the form shown. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, the anode a is of cylindrical shape with a base of elliptical form, and the filament b is mounted on supports e, f, g and assumes the form of a helix.
