Abstract

1,259,446. Electro-photography. XEROX CORP. June 30, 1970 [July 3, 1969], No.31607/70. Heading G2H. Residual toner is removed from a photoconductive drum 10 by a flexible blade 46 mounted on a pivotable support 58. The blade may be of polysiloxane rubber, polyurethane rubber, PTFE, polytrifluorochloroethylene, styrenebutadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, nitro-silicone rubber, flexible polyurethane foam, or polyethylene. The blade material may have a Shore hardness of 55-70 durometers, a tensile modulus of 200-300 psi at 100% elongation, and a resiliency giving a 35% rebound. The drum may be subjected in succession to an alternating corona, the blade, and an incandescent panel.
