Abstract

1444795 Cleaning electro-photographic surfaces RANK XEROX Ltd 9 Nov 1973 [10 Nov 1972] 52119/73 Heading G2H Cleaning blade 38 is pivotally mounted on rod 34, and is held against photo-conductive drum 10 by its own weight and that of mass 37, independent of the action of the springs 29 which urge the cleaning assembly 16 against the drum. Preferably the blade 38 is of polyurethane rubber, or of polysiloxane rubber, polytetrafluorethylene, polytrifluorochloroethylene resin, styrenebutadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, nitro-silicone rubber, polyurethane foam or polyethylene rubber, and is rectangular in cross-section. Particles removed from the drum by the blade are passed by rollers 42 and 43 into chamber 23, where they accumulate.
