Abstract

125,717. Harvey, E. H. April 16, 1918. Lifting-dogs.-The jaws of lifting-dogs for raising sunken ships are shaped to fit snugly round and completely enclose a conical block A<3> at the upper end of a chain attached to the ship. Eyes E on the jaws, carrying ropes leading to the surface, enable the jaws to be released from the blocks if desired. To engage the block. the dogs slide down a guide-rope B running from the block to a surface buoy.
