Pulley-tackle.-In boat-lowering gear, an horizontal bar 10 placed between the pulley blocks 1 at each of the boats to prevent the falls 8 from twisting is so held by a hinged or tumbler device 11 that it may be readily removed. A tumbler 11 hinged to the plates of a block normally engages in recesses 14 in the upper part of the bar, being locked in position by the taut falls. When the falls are thick, the tumbler may be turned upwards out of engagement with the bar, which may then be removed.
