Abstract

1,256,958. Electro-photographic developing processes. RICOH K. K. March 17, 1969 [March 25, 1968], No. 13809/69. Heading G2H. Electrostatic latent image bearing sheets are passed between development electrodes submerged in a solution containing charged toner particles; the field between the electrodes being reversed after developing each sheet so as to stop toner from accumulating on the electrodes. To obviate the need for reversing successive sheets as the field is reversed, electrodes 11, 12 are mounted on a shaft 14a which is rotated by a gear 15 to reverse the electrodes, positions and a commutator and brush arrangement 16 to 19 reverses the field as the shaft rotates. A number of electrode pairs may be used for large sheets. Instead of plate electrodes, rollers can be used.
