Abstract
1,255,533. Automatic firearm. MAUSERWERKE A.G. 9 May, 1969 [10 May, 1968], No. 23813/69. Heading F3C. An automatic firearm having a reciprocating breech block has two selectable feed devices 14, 15 fitted to the same side of the firearm and supplying cartridges to the firearm in the same direction, selector members and driving members being provided between the feed devices 14, 15. In the construction shown, one of the selector members which comprises a pin 16b is slidably mounted in the end of an operating lever 16 so that it may be displaced towards the selected feed device 14 or 15 by an ammunition selector lever (22, Figs. 1, 3, not shown), the pin then engaging in a selector groove 14f (15f, Fig. 3, not shown), of the feed devices 14, 15 respectively. The feed devices each comprising a feed slide 14d, 15d having the groove 14f (16f), a feed pawl 14c, 15c and guides 14e, 15e for the slide are driven by the operating lever 16 from a gear arrangement which itself is driven by a rotatable sleeve 19. The sleeve 19 is driven in rotation by a projection of a forwardly biased sleeve working in a cam slot of the sleeve, the projection also co-operating with the reciprocating breech-block (Fig. 1, not shown).
