Abstract

125,421. Humphrey, H. A. July 10, 1916. Jet nozzles.-In order to obtain jets of fluid of maximum length, a nozzle is provided at its rear with a cylindrical front 1 subdivided by partitions into a number of passages by which eddies are removed. This partition may consist either of concentric cylinders and radial plates, a number of parallel tubes, a number of plates at rightangles to one another, or of alternately flat and corrugated plates. The passages are of approximately equal area, and are of stream-line form.
