Abstract
1,254,193. Spray producers. ELICOPTER SOC: TRASPORTI AEREI S.p.A. 28 March, 1969 [28 March, 1968], No. 16534/69. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F2] Leakage in a nozzle for the spray treatment of soils and crops is prevented by a valve 8 comprising a diaphragm or membrane with an elastically deformable slot. A threaded ring 1 of P.V.C. clamps the valve between a support 10 secured by welding or adhesive to a header 11 and a spacer 7. The parts 7, 10 and 11 are also of plastic and carry a steel or brass fractioning plate 4 with inclined peripheral slots 5 and a cone-shaped member 2 of stainless steel which imparts a whirling motion to the liquid. The valve membrane can be made entirely of a natural or synthetic elastic material or of a rigid material with an elastically deformable part. The lips of the slot may be curved or rectilinear and may co-operate with a stationary pin or with a rigid backing disc.
