Abstract

1,254,054. Fly &c screens. MEYERS TAYLOR PTY Ltd. 14 May, 1969 [28 March, 1969], No. 16477/69. Heading E1J. A mesh-type insect screen assembly adapted to be releasably secured e.g. to window frames to cover the window opening includes a mounting frame 13 adapted to be fixed as by screw 17 to the window frame 11 and provided with an outstanding extruded metal bead structure 15 including a retaining flange 16 and a resilient plastics screen frame 18 to which the screen 19 is secured e.g. by heat fusion, the frame 18 having an undercut groove 23 adapted to clip over the beading 15 and provided with an engagement lip 25 to engage behind and under the retaining flange 16 to restrain the screen frame 18 against disengagement. A digitally operated lifting tag (28 Fig. 7 not shown) may be fixedly connected to a corner of the screen frame 18 to urge the groove mouths to open and separate the bead structure 15 from the screen frame and a rigid metal limit clip (29 Fig. 9 not shown) may be secured to a screen frame 18 at any point along a side of the latter to limit the length of screen frame 18 which may be disengaged from beading 15. Each corner of the bead structure 15 may be cut away to provide gripping edges [27 Fig. 1 not shown] which tend to "bite" within the groove 23.
