Abstract

1,253,693. Current collectors. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. 15 Jan., 1969 [15 Jan., 1968], No. 2447/69. Heading B7L. An overhead current collector 2 on the roof 1 of a rail vehicle may be tilted transversely, relative to the vehicle body 9, by setting means 5 which are operated in accordance with the centrifugal force as the vehicle moves on a curve. The collector is thus maintained in contact with the current conductor 16 when the body leans outwardly, or is banked inwardly by adjustment of air springs 13. Tilting of the collector may be performed by bellows 6, or by piston-cylinder assemblies, mechanical linkages attached to a bogie 14, or weights attached to a spring collector (Figs. 2 to 7, not shown), and may be controlled by a pendulum or gyroscope device (Fig. 3, not shown).
