[Also in Divisions F3-F4] A rotary cooler for bulk material 3 comprises louvre-type walls 2a, 2b for the passage of cooling air from an air duct 4 and a movable annular bottom plate 5 on which the material rests to be discharged by a stationary scraper 8 on to a shoot 9 and conveyer belt 10. The deflecting surface of the scraper 8 is formed by components 12a ... 12d extending at progressively increasing angles to the direction of movement of the material and perpendicularly to the bottom plate 5. The components overlap one another in the direction of flow, and the leading component 12a may comprise thicker material or have higher wear resistance than some of the other components.
