Abstract

1,253,589. Ladders. GLASS REINFORCED ENGINEERED MATERIALS Inc. 26 Aug., 1969, No. 42493/69. Heading E1S. Ladder rungs 18 are fixed at each end in tubular bosses 24 fixed to, and preferably moulded integrally with the stiles. As shown, the stiles are of channel-section and are mould from a glass fibre reinforced plastics material. Each boss has four quadrant-shaped wings 34 and a pair of opposed ribs 36 moulded integrally therewith, the latter forming together with the adjacent flanges 22, guideways for adjacent ladder sections, which have oppositefacing channel-sectioned stiles. The rungs may be tubular, may be of metal and may be a press fit in the bosses, or may be glued thereto.
