Abstract

1,253,537. Valves. DRAYTON HYDROFLEX Ltd., and A. J. BENSON. 5 May, 1969 [10 June, 1968], No. 27557/68. Heading F2V. A fluid control valve in which a closure member 5 is moved by, e.g. a thermostatic control system 12, via a push-rod 10, comprises a thin-walled membrane-like sheath 13 enveloping the push-rod, and having a flange 14 bonded to a backing plate 15 fixed between portions 7 and 16 in a housing 1. The member 5 is forced on to a seat 4 by the system 12 against the loading of a spring 18, and in the open position the sheath 13 is compressed, whilst in the closed position it is extended.
