Abstract

1,252,916. Supply fittings for baths &c. STANDARD SCREW CO. Nov. 22, 1968 [Nov. 24, 1967], No. 55454/68. Heading A4N. A fitting adapted to supply water to a bath or a shower device comprises a decorative member (10), Fig. 1 (not shown) arranged to be attached to a wall 30 by a mounting plate 38, a valve 50 designed on operation of a handle 62 to mix supplies of hot and cold water, a spout 88 connected by a conduit 54 to the valve 50, and a diverter device 82 for directing water either through the spout 88 or up to the shower device. The member (10) forms a housing which encloses a portion of the spout and a portion of the conduit 54, a decorative plate 32 being secured to its outer surface. The diverter is operated by a knob 84. The fitting is provided with an integral soap dish having parallel ribs 26 and with a hand grip 22 supported by projections 24. The mounting plate is provided with projections (44), Fig. 4 (not shown) which extend at least partially into the wall and with rearwardly extending projections (46) which may be connected to beams &c. The member (10) is secured to the mounting plate and thus the wall by screws 42. In a modification, Figs.5 and 6 (not shown) a spout housing (102), a soap dish (108) and a hand grip (118) are all independently and removably mounted, a mounting plate (98) being provided on the opposite side of a wall (96). Rotation of the handle 62 controls the water temperature and reciprocation of the handle controls the volume discharged.
