Abstract

1,251,963. Crimping and heating yarns. SORIVEN & PAGET Ltd. 17 Jan., 1969 [19 Jan., 1968], No. 3030/68. Headings DID and D1F. An electrical heater comprising a plurality of heating units is disposed transversely of a false twist crimping machine. The heating units 11, 16 are individually slidably mounted in a magazine having upper and lower members 8, 9. Each unit may consist of a standard 11, 16 which supports a series of parallel, horizontally extending plates 12. Alternate heating units are removable from the same side of the machine. The plates may be inclined as at 18 and provided with a thermocouple 21 and thermistor 22 for regulating the heating. The same heating units may be used to heat yarn fed by devices 2 from opposite sides of the machine.
