Abstract
1,251,643. Pile drivers. R. KING, 27 Nov., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 56372/67. Heading E1H. A post driver comprises a frame 12 adapted for attachment to a vehicle three-point linkage 14 for movement between a lowered working position (shown) and a raised transport position, the frame having pivoted to its lower end at 18, an upstanding monkey guide 16 pivotable (about 18) in a vertical plane and means (e.g. a stop 28 on the guide engaging teeth 21 on a segment 20 on the frame) to lock the guide in the required angular position relative to the frame so that when operating on sloping ground the guide can be positioned vertically. The driver may also comprise a monkey 30 connected via a cable 36 to a winch drum 38 connected to a pulley 43, the pulley having a slack belt 44 connected to a shaft driven by the vehicle take off, the cable being wound onto the drum when a pulley 48 is forced in manually to tighten the belt. A structure to carry the post driver on the front of a tractor is also described.
