Abstract

1,042,682. Agricultural pick-up vehicles. F. CLAAS. Feb. 17, 1965 [Feb. 17, 1964], No. 6845/65. Heading B8E. [Also in Division B5] Apparatus for vertically adjusting a pick-up 13 (Fig. 1, not shown) with respect to a baler, conveyer or other agricultural machine on which it is mounted, comprises a pivoted lever 18 having a pawl 27 or pin adapted to engage with a notched track 32 to hold the lever 18 in a set position, means for disengaging the pawl 27 or pin on application of an adjusting force to the end of the lever 18, and means for limiting the travel of the pawl or pin in the disengagement direction. In the example this last means comprises a freely rotatable wheel 28 which co-operates with an abutment track 34. The pawl 27 is biased by a spring 30 into engagement with the track 32. By pulling on a cable 38, 39 the operator can release the pawl 27 and then according to the force applied to the cable the lever 18 can be moved to raise or lower the pick-up 13. The lever 18 and pick-up 13 are connected through a bar 20 and spring 22.
