Abstract
1,251,408. Doffing bobbins. V. N. ERMAKOV, V. I. DUBITSKY, V. A. PANTJUKHOV, N. I. ARTAMONOVA and J. T. POPOV. 24 Oct., 1969, No. 52298/69. Heading DID. Bobbins are doffed from spindles 3 by moving bobbin grippers 2 from an initial position towards and along the spindle axis to grip a wound bobbin, turning the spindle 3 relative to the bobbin to facilitate release of the bobbin from the spindle, and returning the bobbin gripper 2 and bobbin to the initial position. As shown, the spindles are doffed by a carriage which moves on rails 29 along the row of spindles. The carriage is arrested by stop switches and the grippers 2 are lowered over the spindles 3. The grippers pneumatically grip the yarn wound on the bobbin and return to their initial position. As the grippers start rising, plates 8 move against pulleys 7 on the spindles and reciprocate to rotate the spindles. When the grippers have returned to their initial positions the bobbins are released from their holders and empty bobbin spools are fed from casing 37.
