[Also in Divisions A4 and Fl] A tank cleaning apparatus comprises a cleaning liquid discharge nozzle assembly 11 secured to a hollow member 7 which is rotatable about a vertical axis, by a shaft 5, 5' rotated by a ratchet mechanism 3, 4 actuated by a hydraulic piston and cylinder device 2 (see Division F1), the nozzle assembly being rotated about a horizontal axis as it rotates with the member 7'by engagement of a gear 9 thereon with a stationary worm gear 8.
