Abstract
755,550. Liquid distributers. BROWN, C. R. B. May 18, 1955 [March 3, 1954], No. 6199/54. Class 69 (3). A rotary sewage distributer with horizontal arms F rotated by jet reaction about a fixed liquid supply column A has a speed regulating dashpot fixed to the centre column, the piston H of which is reciprocated against liquid in the dashpot cylinder G by a linkage P. A roller R on the linkage rides on a switchback-shaped track S secured to the rotary chamber C, and the speed of movement of the piston, and hence the distributer speed, is controlled by the flow rate of dashpot liquid through an orifice in the piston. Two dashpots may be used. In a modification the dashpot piston is reciprocated by a toothed wheel secured to the rotating part of the distributer which meshes with a pinion wheel which drives a crank connected to the piston linkage.
