Abstract

1347628 Spraying liquids AMCHEM PRODUCTS Inc 23 Feb 1972 8389/72 Heading B2F A liquid sprayer comprises a stationary feed pipe 12, Fig. 2, and a rotatable sleeve 22 on which are mounted discharge tubes 18. The pipe 12 has a control cap 14 provided with an arcuate slot 16 whereby liquid is in communication with only some of the tubes 18 resulting in a sector shaped spray pattern. By rotation of a collar 58 secured to the pipe 12 the angular position of the slot 16 can be changed so that the spray pattern moves to a new location. A plate 70, Fig. 4, has a head 72 within the slot 16, and by rotation of an indicator (62-A), Fig. 6 (not shown), bolted to the plate 70, the width of the slot 16 can be varied as the head 72 moves therein. The sleeve 22 is driven by a motor through a worm gear 30, and a gear 34 which is fastened by bolts 36 to a collar member 42 secured to the sleeve by set screw 38.
