Abstract

1,126,095. Spray producers. SOC. ANON. DES ETABS. NEU, 15 Sept., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965; 9 Dec., 1965], No. 41359/66. Heading B2F. A liquid spray-producer comprises a rotatable cup-shaped member 1 having a concave face 2, a cage rotor 6 mounted coaxially with respect to the member 1 and adapted to be rotated in the opposite direction about a horizontal axis, and means for feeding the liquid to the face 2. The member 1 is located within the rotor 6 so that the liquid sprayed centrifugally by the member 1 is further dispersed by rods or blades 7 on the rotor. The liquid may be supplied through the shaft of the member 1 or the shaft of the rotor or through a fixed pipe and nozzle. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the apparatus is surrounded by a further cage rotor (12) rotating in the same direction as the cupshaped member. In a further type of embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown) a spray producer (17) having a tangential inlet (18) produces a whirling spray within a cage rotor (6) which is rotated in a direction opposite to that of the spray. An outer cage rotor (12), Fig. 7 (not shown) rotating in a direction opposite to that of the inner one may be added.
