Abstract
1,251,334. Semi-conductor devices. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 11 Feb., 1969 [21 Feb., 1968], No. 8347/68. Heading H1K. A semi-conductor rectifier assembly comprises a plurality of conductive strips 12 each of which carries and connects in common several semiconductor devices, such as diodes 13, the strips 12 all being mounted on an anodized surface of an aluminium heat sink 10. In the form shown each strip 12 is soldered to the heat sink 10 through a layer 11 of nickel-coated " Nichrome " (Registered Trade Mark). This embodiment has three strips 12 each of which carries three diodes 13 interconnected to form a rectifier for use with a three-phase alternator. A second embodiment providing a combined regulator and rectifier for a three-phase permanent magnet alternator comprises only two strips, one of which carries three thyristors, the other carrying three diodes.
