Abstract
1,158,529. Alternators. NIPPON DENSO K.K. 21 June, 1968 [21 June, 1967], No. 29826/68. Heading H2A. [Also in Division H1] The all-enveloping plastics encapsulation of a semi-conductor rectifier extends through holes in a cooling plate acting as one electrode of the rectifier and preferably extends beyond the bounds of the holes on the opposite side of the plate to key the encapsulation to the plate. The encapsulant 20 may be continuous behind the plate 3 particularly in the multi-diode arrangement shown which forms half of a three phase bridge to be mounted in the airflow of a cooling fan within the housing of a motor vehicle alternator. The plates 3, 4 replace those of Fig. 1 (not shown) which carry rectifiers housed in a known way.
