Abstract

1,249,848. Cam followers. AUTOMOBILOVE ZAVODY NARODNI PODNIK. 2 April, 1970 [4 April, 1969], No. 15662/70. Heading F2K. A pivoted arm cam follower for an I.C. engine valve gear has a cam-engaging member 2 rockably mounted on the arm to pivot about an axis 6 offset from and transverse to the rotational axis 7 of the cam shaft. This enables the contact surface of the member 2 to engage the cam over its full width, to reduce wear. The member 2, of chilled cast iron, rocks on a pair of balls 3, or a cylindrical roller (9) (Fig. 3, not shown) and is retained on the arm by a spring clip 4.
