Abstract

1,249,601. Friction clutches. DR. HERMANN E. MULLER. 8 Jan., 1970 [12 June, 1969], No. 911/70. Heading F2C. In a friction clutch wherein a diaphragm spring 3 is fulcrumed between rings 5, 6 carried by studs 4, the studs are resiliently secured to a clutch cover 2. As shown, the studs 4 pass through holes in the clutch cover 2 and are held therein by circlips 8. Precompressed spring washers 7 between the circlips 8 and clutch cover 2 resiliently clamp the diaphragm spring between the fulcrum rings. Recesses 9 in the clutch cover 2 adjacent the springs 7 permit increased axial movement of the studs 4. The spring ring 7 and circlip 8 may be replaced by a single spring ring.
