Abstract
1,249,051. Organic photoconductor. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 31 Jan., 1969 [31 Jan., 1968], No. 5310/69. Heading H1K. An organic photoconductor is spectrally sensitized by a cyanine dye in which one of the two heterocyclic nuclei of the chromophoric system is a pyrazole nucleus joined at the 4 carbon thereof to the methine chain. In the specific embodiments a mixture of 4,41-bis- (diethylamino) 2,2<SP>1</SP>-dimethyltriphenylmethane and a polyester together with the cyanine dye is coated on an aluminium surface to give an electrophotographic plate. Many other suitable organic photoconductors and polymeric binders are listed. Thirty specific examples of cyanine dyes are given.
