Screw propeller.-A blade propellers.-A blade H of an aircraft propeller is bolted in a shoe D secured in a socket in the boss by a bayonet - joint. The socket has a curved seating J, a projecting rim I on the shoe fitting in a groove F in the socket to take side strain. The blade is secured by inclined screw bolts G passing through the shoe casing, and by a head bolt E.
