Abstract

1,245,960. Caps for containers. REFLEX CORP. OF CANADA Ltd. 20 Dec., 1968 [22 Dec., 1967], No. 60632/68. Heading B8T. A safety cap of the type adapted to be applied to and removed from a container by a combined axial and rotative motion comprises lugs 13 internal of the skirt 12, an annular flexing member 15, and a sealing disc 31. The lugs 13 co-operate with external notches 22 on the container so that a downward force is first required to free the lugs 13 from the notches 22 before the cap can be rotated free of the container. A rib 18 prevents overflexing of the member 15. The cap may be injection moulded of polypropylene and the container of high impact styrene. The disc 31 may be formed of cardboard to which a paperbacked aluminium foil coated with vinyl is adhered, a layer of wax being provided over the foil.
