Abstract

1,245,823. Laminated dusters. KIMBERLYCLARK CORP. 6 Sept., 1968 [11 Sept., 1967], No. 42597/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Division A4] A cloth comprises a base sheet of creped cellulosic wadding, a web of synthetic fibres in which the fibres are generally aligned in one direction and arranged so that the fibres contact the peaks of the creped wadding and bridge the valleys, the fibres being secured to at least some of the peaks by an adhesive disposed in spaced discrete spots, the base sheet being impregnated with oil and the synthetic fibres coated with oil. In an embodiment, two creped base sheets 1 and 7 are plied in a cross-laid relationship and each base sheet has a web of synthetic fibres 5 and 8 bridging the valleys of its surface. Specified synthetic fibres are rayon acrylonitriles, polyamides and polypropylene, and the surface of the fibres may be napped.
