Abstract

1,245,454. Air cushion vehicles. BRITISH HOVERCRAFT CORP. Ltd. 24 July, 1969 [9 Oct., 1968], No. 47763/69. Heading B7K. An air cushion vehicle is provided with at least one water scoop 14 which during operation over water may depend below the water level, the scoop being selectively connectible to one or more water jets outlets (22), 23, (24), 25 which are directed towards the surface of the water. The scoop may be retractible and angularly adjustable. The jets may be used to adjust trim and can be used as anti-roll or anti-pitch devices which may be automatically controlled. Each water jet outlet may be provided with an individual scoop.
